Description:There will be dinner, silent auction, slide shows, live Tibetan music and dance, and door prizes. The funds raised will be used for the construction of a new meditation hall. With enough support, KSK hopes to complete Phase I of the building before a 2011 visit from Kalu Rinpoche, the young reincarnation of the founder of KSK. An all day free event celebrating Tibetan culture.
Experience Tibetan culture firsthand as you learn to paint Tibetan Thangkas, carve Mantras on rocks, create dance masks, and print prayer flags.
Try your hands on Tibetan music by learning the basics of traditional musical instruments or snap a picture wearing traditional Tibetan costumes. Enjoy a presentation on Tibetan customs and altar presentation or enjoy a film on Tibet. Take home a souvenir from the Tibetan Bazaar. Tibetan food and beverages sold throughout the day. Please bring food and drinks for a Potluck Picnic at the Fort Marcy Park (320 Artist Road) following the morning prayers. There are fun activities planned at the park, so we hope you will take the time out of your busy schedule to join us and celebrate the life and work of our most revered leader.

What: Award winning husband-wife filmmakers Tenzing Sonam and Ritu Sarin will be screening their latest film in Santa Fe. In addition, we will also create a giant puppet that would symbolize something relating to our culture or cause. Description: A Tibetan from New York named Lhakpa Tsering will be in Santa Fe on March 25th for a quick stop as he embarks on a "Free Tibet World Tour" on his motor bike to raise awareness to the plight of Tibetans. The journey will take him through 22 countries in 8 months. His journey started in NYC on March 10th and will end in Dharamsala, India after 8 months. Lhakpa la dipped into his retirement savings to finance this mission and has also left his family behind for our case. Description: Losar - Tibetan New Year - We will meet at the Chorten for prayers and Sangsol. Then, we will head to Phende Rigzod Khang at 1:00PM. As instructed by Tibetan Gov't, we will not celebrate Losar in any extravagant manner, rather we will observe Losar in memory of our brothers and sisters who have lost their lives for Tibet by sending letters and petitions to our leaders, offering prayers, and lighting butter lamps and candles. Please click here to see Tibetan Gov't letter. A campaign put forth by various Tibet Support Groups encourages Tibetans to reassert Tibetan identity. Thus, we encourage our members to wear traditional Tibetan dresses, practice traditional customs, speak Tibetan, and bring Tibetan food and butter tea to the poluck. Description: Students for a Free Tibet Fundraiser Event - Students for a Free Tibet invites you to a special event and fundraiser, "Remembering the past and envisioning the future" with Tenzin Dorjee (SFT's new Executive Director) and Lhadon Tethong (former SFT Executive Director, current Director of Tibet Action Institute). Food and drinks will be available. All proceeds from this event will benefit SFT. Tendor will also play music. There will also be dance at the end with music from DJ Sontza. This is the first time that both Tendor la and Lhadon la are coming to Santa Fe at the same time, so let's not disappoint them and support this great organization as we have done in the past.
